Open 3K Rebound Ace Sports Rosebowl Championships (Three Day Event)
Open Series. Additional events on offer: Open Mixed Doubles & Wheelchair Tennis.
Rod Laver, Geoff Masters, Pat Cash, Wendy Turnbull, the Draper Brothers and most recently Bernard Tomic have all won this historical “Rosebowl Tournament”.
Bruce Lynton Automotive Group sponsored the Rosebowl from 1991 – 2018.
Gold Coast District Closed Championships
An Honour Board Event for Gold Coast Residents only (must be financial member of TGC) dating back to 1946. Played in 1 day – Round Robin Singles AM & Round Robin Doubles PM.
Events: Open; 16/U; 14/U; 12/U; and 10/U. Age as at the 31 December.
Junior Development Series (JDS) Tournaments
An introductory tournament aimed for beginner to intermediate players aged between 6 yrs to 17 yrs. JDS’s are offered in each Region of Queensland, and in every State. 8 Tournaments are held throughout the year. Top 2 Series Winners in 11/U; 13/U; 15/U; 17/U make the Gold Coast JDS Team for the JDS State Final held in Rockhampton, in October each year. Age eligibility for the JDS’s – age as at 31 December of the year.
Tom Ferguson Shield
Shield Day held between, TGC, Beenleigh, Redlands and Beaudesert. Event consists of Mens Doubles, Ladies Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Each region selects their team. Venue for each year is rotated between the regions. 4 Grades: Open; A Grade; A Reserve; and Seniors. Held in August each year.
Max Stuart & Milton Rothman Shield Day
Shield Day held between Tennis Gold Coast & Tennis Brisbane – Fixture Players aged between 12 yrs and 17 yrs. Singles and Doubles in a Timed Format, 30mins per match. Top 40 players selected for the TGC Team. Top 10 players spread across the 10 teams, followed by the next top 10 etc. Held in November each year.
Inter-School Tennis Challenge
Annual event for all State and Private Schools/Colleges located on the Gold Coast. There are 2 events schools can enter into: 1. Boys 2. Girls. Two players per team. Two boys and two girls – play round robin doubles. Mixed teams (i.e. boy and girl) may play – play in the boys event. Schools can nominate as many teams as they like to represent their school. Players are encouraged to wear their school uniform.
